The Art of Tax Juggling
Definition: Tax Juggling is the strategy many advanced players use in their Sest Cities (click Here for info on what a sest city is) in order to gain extra sest.
How it Works: Assuming you're starting off at 50% tax:
~Lower your tax by 5% every 30 minutes until your tax reaches 0% and your allegiance is 100 (full city population).
~Then, set it to 100% and wait until allegiance drops to 50, then set your tax back to 50% and do it again if you wish.
~Helpful hint: I use my phone alarm to remind me to lower by 5% every 30 mins. Works like a charm most of the time.
More Details/Tips: I lower it by 5% every 30 minutes simply because that's how long it takes for allegiance to raise up by 5. Tax and allegiance go hand in hand, so when you lower taxes allegiance goes up. The reason for this is that, when you eventually set your city to 100% tax, it will be taxing 100% of your population. That = more sest than you would make in one day leaving it at 50% tax. Keep doing this and it adds up very quickly. Might I add that the whole logic to this is that 100% tax on 100% population will give you more than 50% tax on 50% population. Even while reducing tax slowly. Do the math! (yay math <3)
Also, I'd like to add that I reduce tax slowly to also get the maximum sest gain. If you immediately reduce tax to 0 and wait the 5 hours for it to go up, that is 5 hours of NO sest gain. Whereas if you drop it slowly, then you still make sest as you wait for your allegiance to rise. That is why it's done that way.
Another note, I suppose you COULD use Theatrics to jump it to 100 allegiance instantly, but it is a waste of a very good item that you could use during a heavy colonize attempt on your city. So, save it! Same with the Sanctuary bills. Not worth using in this type of situation. This is something you can do all day, every day, at no extra hassle to you other than the fact you'll be waiting forever for it to get to the target 0 tax 100 allegiance.
I almost forgot...... Using your highest level hero with max sway will also boost your sest production incredibly much after you set it to 100%. Consider temp moving him there for that time. And use your 25% sest boost if you have one. All things that can drastically increase your sest gain here.
